Zoho CRM vs Salesforce: Prices, Contracts, Automation and Migration Compared
By Mikhail Oskola, Founder & AI Automation Architect · October 14, 2026 · 13 min read
Salesforce vs Zoho, tier for tier: Zoho CRM costs less at every level and needs no contract. It is free for 3 users, then $14 to $52 per user a month billed annually. Salesforce Sales Cloud is free for 2, then $25 to $550, billed annually on self-renewing one-year terms from Pro Suite up. Checked 14 October 2026.
Zoho CRM vs Salesforce at a glance
Every row comes from the vendor's own pricing pages, edition tables, contract terms or help center, in USD. We checked both price lists on 14 October 2026. Salesforce's contract terms and import docs were read on 8 October 2026, and Zoho's support plans on 25 September 2026. Each vendor also publishes a page comparing itself with the other. We don't use those as sources about the rival; what they get wrong is in the last section.
The comparison is Zoho CRM against Salesforce Sales Cloud. Zoho also sells bundles such as Zoho One and CRM Plus, and "Salesforce" on its own can mean the whole platform, so check which product a review is quoting.

How much do Zoho CRM and Salesforce cost?
Zoho CRM costs less at every tier we can pair, by $11 a user a month at entry level and by $155 when Zoho Enterprise meets Salesforce Core. The tiers don't line up one to one, so the table pairs them by their place in each price list. That pairing is ours, not either vendor's. Salesforce Max has no Zoho counterpart.
Zoho prices are per user a month and come in two columns: billed annually, or billed monthly for more. Zoho's pricing page says yearly plans "save up to 34%". Ultimate appears on Zoho's edition table and in its pricing FAQ, but not on the US pricing cards. Zoho adds tax on top: "Local taxes may apply."
Salesforce prices are per user a month. Only Starter Suite can be billed monthly. Pro Suite says "Billed annually. Contract required.", and Core, Advanced and Max are billed annually too. Salesforce's small-business pricing page marks Starter Suite and Pro Suite as "Starting price. Transaction fees apply." Its contract says the fees "do not include any taxes".

What does a 20-user team pay over two years?
From $6,720 to $60,000 at list, depending on the tier and the vendor. Two years is where the contract difference shows up, so that's the period we used.
Here is our arithmetic from the list prices above, not a vendor quote. It covers licenses for 20 people over 24 months. It leaves out tax, add-ons, AI credits and any implementation partner. Setup and migration cost money on either platform; our own ranges are in what a CRM implementation costs.
Now say the team drops to 12 users six months in. On Salesforce, "quantities purchased cannot be decreased during the relevant subscription term", so you pay for 20 until the term ends. To renew with fewer seats you give notice at least 30 days before the end, and a smaller renewal is re-priced "without regard to the prior term's per-unit pricing". On Zoho, monthly billing lets you change your plan whenever you need to. Zoho's pricing page doesn't say whether a yearly payment is refunded if you cut seats mid-year, so ask before you pay annually.
- Entry, Zoho CRM Standard: 20 × $14 × 24 = $6,720 billed annually, or 20 × $20 × 24 = $9,600 billed monthly.
- Entry, Salesforce Starter Suite: 20 × $25 × 24 = $12,000, billed monthly or annually.
- Middle, Zoho CRM Professional: 20 × $23 × 24 = $11,040 billed annually, or 20 × $35 × 24 = $16,800 billed monthly.
- Middle, Salesforce Pro Suite: 20 × $100 × 24 = $48,000 on annual contracts. With the API add-on, another 20 × $25 × 24 = $12,000, so $60,000.
Contracts: Salesforce's one-year term vs Zoho's monthly billing
Salesforce's standard contract is a one-year commitment that renews itself and can't shrink mid-term. Zoho says it has none.
Salesforce's Main Services Agreement is dated 1 September 2026. It says subscriptions "will automatically renew for additional one year terms" unless either side gives written notice "at least 30 days before the end of the relevant subscription term". Payment obligations are "non-cancelable", "fees paid are non-refundable", and "quantities purchased cannot be decreased during the relevant subscription term." Promotional or one-time prices renew "at SFDC's applicable list price".
Zoho's pricing FAQ says: "You are not bound by any contracts or commitments. Zoho CRM is a pay-as-you-go service (monthly or yearly), so you can make changes to your plan whenever you need to." Zoho's pricing page and its FAQ don't mention refunds for a yearly plan cut short (checked 14 Oct 2026).
Which has more automation per dollar, Zoho CRM or Salesforce?
Zoho CRM. It includes workflow rules on every edition, while Salesforce starts custom flows at Pro Suite, $100 a user.
Zoho's feature list gives workflow rules per module: 10 on Free (5 active), 30 on Standard (15 active), 80 on Professional (40 active), 125 on Enterprise (75 active) and 150 on Ultimate (100 active), with an org cap of 2,500 (https://www.zoho.com/crm/complete-feature-list.html, checked 14 Oct 2026). Zoho's edition table adds Blueprints, its guided step-by-step processes: 3 active on Professional, 50 on Enterprise and 100 on Ultimate. Webhooks start on Professional. Approval processes are Enterprise and Ultimate only. Zoho's pricing page lists "Cadences", automated follow-up sequences, on Standard.
Salesforce Starter Suite has "Built-in Sales Flows and Lead Routing", which are prebuilt. Building your own flows starts on Pro Suite, where Flow Builder is capped at "5 flows per org". Core, Advanced and Max include Flow Builder with no count on the pricing page. Approval processes start on Core. Flow Orchestration is a paid add-on from Pro Suite up (https://www.salesforce.com/sales/pricing/, checked 14 Oct 2026).
Tier for tier, Zoho Standard gives you 30 rules per module where Starter Suite gives you no flows of your own. Zoho Professional gives you 80 rules per module and 3 Blueprints where Pro Suite gives you 5 flows per org. Zoho counts rules per module and Salesforce counts flows per org, so treat the numbers as headroom rather than a one-to-one match.
Customization, sandboxes and API limits
Zoho CRM includes API access on every edition, Free included. Salesforce starts it at Pro Suite as a $25 add-on. Salesforce includes a sandbox, a separate test environment, from Pro Suite up; Zoho's edition table puts sandboxes on Enterprise and Ultimate.
Most of Zoho's limits below come from its edition comparison page, which carries the footer "Last updated on: June 4, 2022". One row disagrees with Zoho's current pricing page: the US Standard card lists "Custom modules", while the 2022 table starts them at Enterprise. Go by the pricing page and confirm in a trial. Salesforce's per-edition limits for custom objects and fields sit on developer pages we couldn't load, so they're marked as not checked.
| Limit | Zoho CRM | Salesforce Sales Cloud |
|---|---|---|
| API access | Every edition, including Free | Not on Free or Starter Suite. Pro Suite: $25 per user a month extra. Included from Core |
| API limits | Credits per day per org: 5,000 on Free, 100,000 on Standard, 500,000 on Professional, 1,000,000 on Enterprise, unlimited on Ultimate | Daily allowances are published only under old edition names, so we don't map them here |
| Sandboxes | Enterprise and Ultimate | Developer sandbox from Pro Suite. One partial sandbox per org on Core, Advanced and Max. One full sandbox included on Advanced and Max, a paid add-on on Core |
| Custom modules or objects | Pricing page: listed on Standard. 2022 edition table: 100 modules on Enterprise, 500 on Ultimate | Per-edition limits not checked |
| Custom fields | Per module: 10 on Standard, 155 on Professional, 300 on Enterprise, 500 on Ultimate | Per-edition limits not checked |
| Data storage | Free 5,000 records (10 MB). Standard 100,000 records (200 MB). Professional and up 10 GB. Extra storage $4 per 100 MB | 10GB per org on Free, Starter Suite and Pro Suite. Core: 10GB per org plus 20MB per user. Advanced and Max: 1GB per user |
AI: what Zia and Einstein / Agentforce cost on each plan
Salesforce advertises some AI on its free plan, and sells its agents as a paid add-on below Max. Zoho's AI starts at Professional.
Zoho's US pricing cards list "AI agents" and "Predictive intelligence" on Professional, and "Extended AI capabilities" on Enterprise. Zoho's edition table puts every Zia feature it lists, such as Prediction Builder and the recommendation engine, on Enterprise and Ultimate. Agent usage is metered: Zoho's Salesforce comparison page says Zia agents are "Billed. 30 million free credits per month. $100 for 100k credits". We didn't find that line on the pricing page itself.
Salesforce's Free Suite page advertises "built-in AI to draft emails and summarize records". Its pricing page says "AI can be added to Core and above." Agentforce for Sales is an add-on on Core and Advanced, "From $125 USD/user/month", and included on Max. Each edition from Core comes with Flex Credits for agent actions: 500,000 a year on Core, 1 million on Advanced and 2.75 million on Max. Extra credits cost "$500 USD/Per 100k Credits", and an agent action uses 20 (https://www.salesforce.com/agentforce/pricing/, checked 8 Oct 2026).
Do you need an admin or a partner for either one?
Neither vendor's pricing pages require a partner, and neither lists a setup fee. Both sell more help than the base license includes.
Zoho's pricing page leads with "Free Onboarding". Its support-plans FAQ refers to "the free four sessions with your onboarding specialist" and says the specialist "will not implement Zoho CRM for you" (https://www.zoho.com/crm/support-plans.html, checked 25 Sep 2026). For more than that, Zoho's pricing FAQ says Zoho sells "end-to-end services that cover everything from requirement gathering to setup and onboarding". The Ultimate card adds "Migration assistance". Zoho's premium support costs 20% of the subscription, and its Enterprise support 25%, with a minimum of 50 user licenses.
Salesforce includes the Standard Success Plan with every license: "Access to Knowledge Articles, documentation, and Trailhead", Salesforce's free training site. The Premier Success Plan adds 24/7 support for "business-stopping issues" at 30% of net license fees. It's an add-on on Pro Suite and included on Core, Advanced and Max.
Neither vendor's pages we read put a number on the admin time an org needs, so we don't either.
Can you move from Zoho CRM to Salesforce, or back?
Yes, both ways. Zoho has a built-in importer for Salesforce data. Going to Salesforce means exporting CSV files from Zoho and importing them.
Salesforce to Zoho CRM: in Zoho, go to Setup, then Data Administration, then Import, and choose Salesforce. You upload a ZIP of CSV files with a folder named Attachments, which is the shape of a Salesforce data backup. Custom objects come across from files with a "_c" suffix. Zoho maps 19 modules, from users, leads, accounts, contacts and deals to quotes, invoices and price books. Workflows aren't on that list. Autonumber and formula fields can't be created during the migration, only the first ten tags per record move, and the migration pauses if more than 5,000 records in a module are skipped. You can undo it from Import History. Zoho also offers to run the migration for you through a request form (https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/kb/crm/data-administration/data-migration/articles/migrating-from-salesforce, checked 14 Oct 2026). We couldn't load Salesforce's own export docs, so check how often your edition can run a data export before you plan the move.
Zoho CRM to Salesforce: Zoho exports up to 200,000 records from a module in one CSV export, or 50,000 in XLSX, with up to 200 fields per export. Daily export limits run from 10 on Free to 1,000 on Ultimate. For attachments and configuration, Zoho says a full backup "is the way to go" (https://help.zoho.com/portal/en/kb/crm/data-administration/export-data/articles/export-crm-data, checked 14 Oct 2026). On the Salesforce side we found no Zoho-specific import tool. The Data Import Wizard takes CSV files only, "up to 50,000 records at a time", on all editions. Its object list covers accounts, contacts, leads, campaign members, person accounts, solutions and custom objects. Opportunities, Salesforce's name for deals, aren't on that list, so plan a separate route for deal records (help.salesforce.com, checked 8 Oct 2026).
Salesforce's Zoho FAQ says "MuleSoft and AppExchange both support Zoho integrations" for teams running both tools during a transition, without naming a specific connector. Zoho's Salesforce page advertises "Get 6 months for free" to switchers; we couldn't find the terms on that page.
In either direction, plan to rebuild workflow rules, Blueprints and flows by hand. And an import moves records; it won't tell you whether owners, history and custom fields arrived intact. We wrote up what breaks in a CRM migration from our own migration work.
Is Zoho better than Salesforce? When to choose each
On price and contract terms, Zoho CRM wins at every tier we compared. Salesforce makes sense when you need its upper-edition features and can commit to a year.
If HubSpot is the third name on your list, see HubSpot vs Zoho CRM and HubSpot vs Salesforce. When we help teams pick a CRM, our CRM consulting and selection compares HubSpot, Monday.com, Zoho and Pipedrive against how the team actually sells. If HubSpot comes out ahead, we migrate teams into it from Salesforce and from Zoho.
- Choose Zoho CRM if budget per user decides it. Zoho Professional is $23 a user billed annually; Salesforce Pro Suite is $100.
- Choose Zoho CRM if you can't commit to a year. Zoho bills monthly or yearly with no contract. Salesforce bills Pro Suite and up annually on terms that renew themselves.
- Choose Zoho CRM if you want your own automation at the middle tier. Professional allows 80 workflow rules per module and 3 Blueprints; Pro Suite allows 5 flows per org.
- Choose Salesforce Core or above if you need Agentforce or Premier support in the base price, or Max, which Zoho has no match for.
- Choose Zoho CRM if you're leaving Salesforce and want a built-in import. Going from Zoho to Salesforce means CSV files and a separate route for deals.
What the vendors' own comparison pages get wrong
Salesforce publishes https://www.salesforce.com/crm/zoho-vs-salesforce/. Zoho publishes https://www.zoho.com/crm/compare/salesforce.html and a "switch from Salesforce" page. Here is what each says, next to the vendors' own pricing and help pages (all read 14 Oct 2026, Salesforce's Flex Credits on 8 Oct 2026).
- Both comparison pages price Salesforce editions that its pricing page doesn't sell. Salesforce's own Zoho page lists Sales Cloud Professional, Enterprise and Unlimited next to the Suites, and Zoho's page lists Enterprise and Unlimited "as on 12-01-2026". Salesforce's pricing page sells Starter Suite, Pro Suite, Core, Advanced and Max.
- Salesforce's Zoho page lists "AI (all plans)". Its own pricing page says "AI can be added to Core and above."
- About Zoho, Salesforce's page says "The Premium plan costs significantly less". Zoho CRM has no Premium edition. Premium is a Zoho support plan, priced at 20% of the subscription.
- Salesforce's Zoho page lists "Dedicated onboarding specialists" for Salesforce. Its pricing page includes knowledge articles, documentation and Trailhead in every license, and sells Premier support at 30% of net license fees as an add-on on Pro Suite.
- Zoho's page says Salesforce includes "200K free credits" for agents. Salesforce's pricing page includes 500,000 Flex Credits a year on Core, 1 million on Advanced and 2.75 million on Max.
- AI answers repeat numbers no vendor prints. When we checked Google's AI Overview for "zoho to salesforce migration" on 14 October 2026, it said "Zoho restricts exports to a maximum of 3,000 records per batch". Zoho's help page gives 200,000 records per CSV export.

Frequently asked questions
Is Zoho CRM cheaper than Salesforce?+
Yes, at every tier we paired. Zoho CRM Standard is $14 per user a month billed annually against $25 for Salesforce Starter Suite. Zoho Professional is $23 against $100 for Salesforce Pro Suite, and Zoho Enterprise is $40 against $195 for Salesforce Core. Zoho also needs no contract. Checked 14 October 2026.
Is Zoho better than Salesforce?+
For a team that wants low per-user cost, no contract and its own automation at the middle tier, Zoho CRM fits better. Salesforce fits teams that need Agentforce or Premier support in the base price, and can sign one-year terms. The trade-offs are compared tier by tier above.
Does Zoho CRM need an annual contract like Salesforce?+
No. Zoho CRM says "You are not bound by any contracts or commitments" and bills monthly or yearly. Salesforce bills Pro Suite and up annually, and its contract renews for one-year terms unless you give notice 30 days before the end. Fees are non-refundable and seats can't be reduced mid-term.
How do I move data from Zoho CRM to Salesforce?+
Export from Zoho CRM as CSV, up to 200,000 records per module in one export, then load the files with Salesforce's Data Import Wizard, up to 50,000 records at a time. The wizard doesn't list opportunities, so Zoho deals need a separate route. Rebuild Zoho workflows and Blueprints in Salesforce by hand.
Can Zoho CRM import my Salesforce data?+
Yes. Zoho CRM has a built-in Salesforce migration under Setup, Data Administration, Import. It reads a ZIP of Salesforce CSV files, maps 19 standard modules plus custom objects, and can be undone from Import History. Workflows aren't migrated, and Zoho pauses the run if more than 5,000 records in a module are skipped.
Do Zoho CRM and Salesforce charge extra for AI?+
Salesforce does for agents: Agentforce for Sales is an add-on from $125 per user a month on Core and Advanced, included on Max. Zoho CRM lists AI agents on Professional and extended AI on Enterprise, and its Salesforce comparison page says agent usage is billed beyond 30 million free credits a month.
On what date were these Zoho CRM and Salesforce prices checked?+
We checked every Zoho CRM and Salesforce price in this article on 14 October 2026, on the vendors' own pricing pages, in USD. Salesforce's contract terms and import docs were read on 8 October 2026. Both vendors change prices and edition names, so confirm on their pricing pages before you buy.
